what's the name of the fallout tactics total overhaul mod where you have to play in real-time mode?
it came out a couple years ago? think it was translated from chinese? it only worked in real-time mode and had a ton of features previously thought impossible in FoT?

for some reason I cannot remember the name of the mod though! I wanted to reinstall fallout tactics and give it another go though if anyone else can remember.

edit: if it helps I remember the opening area involving a vertibird...

For some time now, I'm working on importing tactics' assets in unity3D to support more modding than available with the original engine.
Today I have enough stuff done to show a very basic idea of that it looks like and explain what I want at the end.

What is working:
- Loading all asset formats (maps, tiles, animated sprites, menues) and displaying it in unity.
- Fallout 2 asset formats support (for tiles and characters) but not used anymore (only FoT assets used).
- Moving around in a map...

I've been itching to have another playthrough of FoT, with a high Charisma leader-type character, but it bothered me that Team Player was bugged. I had a go at fixing it yesterday, and I think I have it (and Loner as well) working correctly.

How to change recruit's hair colour?

So basically, I've been using Endocore's Redux 1.3 + Equillibrium mod and one thing that bothered me was that Stitch had a blonde sprite, but his avatair is dark haired.

I went into the FT Tools and tried to change the hair colour in two different places, the Hair slider in "Image" and and the Hair colour in the level up screen - but absolutely nothing changed in the game.

I made sure I saved my changes and even tried the "update" button but to no avail.

Does anyone knows what to do? Thanks.

In this thread on fixing the Team Player/Loner perks, a request was made to look into allowing character portraits to be displayed in full color, rather than the green-scanline effect of the Pipboy. I think I have it working:

I've been toying with the idea of what it would take to be able to have mods provide custom perks, since this is one of the areas that is pretty much hardcoded into the BOS.EXE.

I was able to find the perk table in the EXE, which controls the minimum level, minimum stats/skills, and restricted/required races. This table also provides everything necessary for applying "simple" perks, which boost a single stat/skill. So modifying these aspects is not too difficult. However, I wanted to see...

I'm planning to add if possible some graphics to FoT. Atm I'm just assembling materials and the process in general might take some time IF fruitful at all. However that procedure is becoming easier as technology advances and more people are interested in modding. To my knowledge the last people that actually produced character sprites were Darin and Diablo(who is working for Project Safehouse, but his sprite sizes look a bit random in size from what I've seen, though they're really well made...

In all those years, or with today's imagination and hack skills ;), does anyone came/can come up with a solution for the broken Night person trait? I received a suggestion to change it in my mod, but besides not using it at all, I don't know what to do. I don't mind having it fixes, I kind of like the idea of it.

But it could also be replaced by a totally new trait. In the case of my mod, I'm thinking about something like this : Resilient = "You can improvise meals anywere. You don't have...

Never thought I'd go back to this one, however, turns out it's good to have a relaxing side project to take a little break when the main one becomes a bit tedious so I've been slowly cracking on this for the last several months. There's some QoL, some tweaks to items and early game difficulty, some cosmetics & flavor and I also tried playing around with perks a bit in the attempt to hopefully give utility skills a bit of combat value and maybe expand the choices somewhat.
